Frequently Asked Questions

Is electrolysis permanent?

Yes, it is. Electrolysis stands alone as the permanent alternative to lifetime maintenance and it is also FDA approved. No other hair-removal solution can claim the universal acceptability and success offered by electrolysis treatments. Electrolysis safely and permanently removes all types of hair from all skin tones.

While other hair removal methods focus on immediate hair removal, none of them deliver permanent elimination of unwanted hair.

Is electrolysis safe for pregnant women or women with POS?

Unwanted hair can be caused by hormonal changes brought on by pregnancy. Electrolysis can be performed on any normal skin. This includes pregnant women. We suggest that you seek the advice of your physician before beginning treatment. Electrolysis is also safe for women with POS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).

Will electrolysis work for me?

Yes. Electrolysis is effective for all skin types, hair types, skin colors, hair colors, and areas of the body.

Do men get electrolysis?

Absolutely! Back hair, ear hair, and facial hair are among the most commonly sought areas for hair removal by men, but other areas are part of the “manscaping” process. Common areas of treatment include eyebrows, especially if a unibrow is of concern; beard sculpting, to eliminate shaving on the cheeks and neck; neckline hair, to treat skin irritations and ingrown hairs; and shoulder hair. Competitive athletes also choose electrolysis for permanent removal of unwanted body hair.

Does electrolysis have any side effects on the skin?

Immediately following treatment, there may be a temporary slight irritation, redness, and mild inflammation which varies with each individual. Minor side effects are common, but they tend to go away within a day. Your electrologist will provide you with post treatment instructions and any personal attention you may need.

Are all hairs eliminated in one treatment?

Depending on the cyclical nature of hair life cycle, multiple appointments may be needed to eliminate hair in an active growth phase.

What is better, electrolysis or laser?

The results are permanent with electrolysis. There are fewer risks and side effects, and you don’t need the maintenance treatments required with laser hair removal. Laser is only a hair reduction.
